^{Oh my God. I came running to dA to seek temporary redemption from studying for my finals, when I saw this message ~Melkyrion had gifted me a premium membership for one freaking year. This is incredibly amazing and totally unnecessary Thank you so much *.*

So yes, I'm supposed to study Math and Greek now, but I keep falling asleep so I figured I might try to keep myself awake by posting a journal haha. I still have some con reports to post, so I'll be spamming you guys for a bit (I hope you won't mind).}

Cosplay Night

^{About two months ago, Jiyu ~Hime-chan93 and I were signed as participants of the Cosplay Night in Rotterdam. I'd never done this before so I didn't really know what to expect. My friends Leonard, Koen and Tom came tagging along, because they wanted to use this for an essay.. and an excuse to laugh at me being nerdy LOL

I mean, just look at them being all happy and excited.

Also ran into =kasumi-kimoto and her friends. ~KidKixZ was there as well in his usual Kakashi get-up. I'll be honest, when I got to the museum we were supposed to meet at, I had not expected such a big crowd. Nor had I expected opera singers and stiltwalkers.

The Cosplay Parade itself was a little bit disappointing though. I really loved the idea, but it just lacked the spirit of a parade. We did have a stereo for music - one stereo - which wasn't even on for most of the time. To me, one important factor which actually cannot be ignored in a parade is music. Not to mention we got lost and took the wrong road. I do appreciate the effort, but I think I'll decline for next year.

After hours we finally arrived at the museum. Jiyu and I goofed about in the main room while we waited for our friends (they had favored food over the parade; my stomach scolded me for not going with them instead). You know what it means... camwhoring time.

Behold! Jiyu wanted to take it easy for this parade so she put on her amazing Nana cosplay. I thought this'd be a nice opportunity to debute my Reira cosplay! It's a shame you can't really see my makeup here.

More camwhoring, with Daniel. Can't see the difference between my skin and the wig anymore.

You could get yourself dolled up by one of the makeup artists. Also that piano was pulling me like a magnet...

The other side of the hall. A DJ played and they supposedly did karaoke on that big screen.

Here's a better look of my cosplay. A fairly easy cosplay to sew, I did the skirt in like, ten minutes. It looks all stiff and straight, but when I walk it flows behind me. The boa, however, was trying to suffocate me with all its feathers.

At the time there was an exhibition called "Future Pass" and I must say it was quite enjoyable to walk through.

I won't be posting all the photos of the pieces here, you can view them on my site (when I have the time to update it), but I do want to share this one. I'm curious what your thoughts on this are?

So yeah, I do quite like the idea, but I wasn't too fond of the execution. I mean, the museum was a beautiful setting (I regret not taking Reira for a shoot on those gorgeous staircases), but it was all like "what now?". Maybe next year they will improve it, but I'm not certain if I will be attending again. I still had a nice night with my friends though (yes, the boys eventually returned from their McDonald's raid as well).
