How are you all today? I just flew back yesterday from Copenhagen. So now I'm posting photos and catching up on Naruto. You know, recently I decided to catch up from where I left off in the anime and now I'm hooked all over again. And yes, I am going to do a Naruto cosplay one day because I feel it's something obligatory.. like how so many people have cosplayed Hatsune Miku haha. I've had Haruno Sakura on my list for a while and now I'm going to just damn do it. Please bear with my Narutardedness from now on. 

Since my last post I have been busy working on cosplays and trying to get a job. My mother is still trying to get me to work at the hospital she works at. Maybe I should. I don't know. Other than that my boyfriend is actually doing pretty good in the Pokemon VGC and he's close to an invitation to Worlds. And Kyman is close to finishing his CSPLY book. I think it's typical that I was the first to sign the contract, but the last to have a shoot with him haha.

For those who have chosen to follow me into the new year; thank you very much for your support. ❤ I hope all of you had a great new year's eve and I wish you all the best for 2016. 

My year hasn't been all too great, in fact it was one of the worst years I had. Which is why I haven't produced much. I hope it'll change this year. As much as I love cosplay, it will never be a priority over other personal things such as work or study. 

Sooo.. what are the cosplans now. I made this little collage with hints of cosplays that I want done.. but not for 2016. I stepped off the whole "things I want for this year" thing because I know it'll never be exactly that. Either things get canceled due to financial reasons for example or people come up with projects mid-year. So instead I made this thing with the hope I'll have all of these crossed off five years from now.  

 

Some of them have been on my wish list for years. In fact I started gathering materials for Zephie (Magna Carta 2) back in 2011 and I still haven't completed it! It's one of the projects I keep postponing for others XD 
I'm also pretty excited about Shao Jun. It'll be a joint cosplay with Maurice aka Tribe design. And of course Love Live. Found me some lovely girls for that haha. ❤ But looking back at this list I already have new ones to add  

Soo what about your plans? Anything special for 2016? Tell mehh ~~  




 

Our main project for 2016 will be Book of Circus from Kuroshitsuji~ I really love circus themes so I'm happy we're doing this. I'm not allowed to reveal my cosplay... yet. It'll be up on the PRISM page next Monday.

Decided to try the deviantART journal questionnaire in commemoration of their 15th birthday. So if you've always wondered about something or just like to read more about me, you can also treat this as a FAQ  

How long have you been on DeviantArt?

According to my info, I've been a member on this site since March 4th, 2007. At the time, I joined the site after a recommendation of a friend I made on Youtube, but I haven't actively used this account until after two years later. 

What does your username mean?

AngelsArcher, or rather Angel's Archer, is a wordplay on Archangel. Way back in elementary school, I had an OC who was a girl clad in black robes with angel wings. She was also an archer, thus AngelsArcher. Other usernames I have used were Pixelity (a mix of my first name and Pixel), when I used to be in the pixelart scene; Riyani, a nickname version of my middle name which I primarily use in the cosplay scene; or Xolani, if Riyani is already taken (Xolani is actually a name I use in games). Sometimes I wonder if I should change my username to something more recent and updated, but it's also something that's stuck for so long I don't want to change it... 

Describe yourself in three words.

"Art is drugs." Or "retarded cat-obsessed gamer". 

Are you left or right handed?

Right handed. 

What was your first deviation?

I have no idea and I'm not sure if it's even on deviantart anymore (had a major cleanup in the meantime). And some of them are in storage. But these are a few of the first things I posted on here which are still public.

  

What is your favourite type of art to create?

Tough question. Over the years I've tried a lot of different branches of art. Used to be into (crappy) photography, but I was also an avid pixel artist. In the meantime I was also slowly working on my drawing skills, which slowly transitioned from traditional pieces to digital pieces. But at the moment the most dominant type is cosplay. It is like I'm using myself as a canvas instead, hence the name of my art portfolio Change of Canvas. 
So even though I enjoy cosplay the most now, in the background I was still doing a bit of drawing and my interest for photography has grown again. As soon as I can buy some new lenses I will focus more on photography and filming. 

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

The art of versatility. 

What was your first favourite?

 

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Cosplay, Photography and Digital Art.

Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

That's a reaaaally hard question. I'm bad at picking favourites. I'm afraid I cannot answer.

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

Anyone who falls under the previous question. Fun fact, my friend Anne1392 once hosted a deviantart meetup for Dutch artists. 

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

Along with work in progresses of their art, artists on deviantart also - albeit unconsciously - show WIP of their lives. It's amazing to see fellow artists grow through the years. I take those people as inspiration, both for art and how I want to live my life. 

What are your preferred tools to create art?

Either my sewing machine or my wacom tablet. 

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Imagination Land! Or if I need a real place... probably Japan. It's got everything; modern skyline, tranquil nature, outrageos fashion, but also rich traditional folklore and stuff.. 

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

The moment I got my first llama. 

I wrote a detailed report on my activities at Animecon 2015. It was a fairly low-paced convention this time, due to our group act being at Abunai this year and hay fever ruining my mood. But we still had our PRISM panel at Saturday and it went quite well for a first! Thank you to everyone who visited!

It's split in two months; the first month with over 20 cosplayers to shoot, with the remaining cosplayers done in the second month that will take place somewhere in September till October. Musings of the Day

How are you all? It seems I've been very absent this year when it comes to cosplay. So far the only new thing I have produced is a last minute closet cosplay haha. But I have some things planned for the summer. Animecon is in a few weeks and I have decided to try and finish Zephie from Magna Carta 2, because I started on it three years ago and it's done nothing but gather dust. I'm also trying to clear out space by finishing all the WIP bags. 

As for Animecon: PRISM won't be participating in the competition - not as a group anyway, but Anne and Ashley are teaming up as a duo with Pyurrot and Inphyy from N3, Roxanne and Jiyu as Black Rose and Azure Kite from .hack and Kaoru as Milla from Tales of Xilia. As for me, I decided to take it easy this year due to distractions in personal life but it'll give me a chance to actually see the convention and the people so I'm happy. 

BUT! We will be doing a group event on Saturday: the Group Cosplay Panel! Sadly, we often hear about collaborations that fall apart due to conflicts or lack of proper communication. Thus many times have we been approached by fellow cosplayers who ask us how we manage to stick together as a group. In this panel, we hope to answer all those questions. 

 

Our main project will be moved to Abunai in August. We hope to enter the group competition with our Tekken act, because we have thought up a comedy skit which I think the audience would like. 

CSPLYeu Book Project: Kickstarter is Live

For half a year I was forced to shut my mouth but now I can finally tell all about this project! A close friend of mine, KymanCheng, has set up a big project that involves several cosplayers from all over Europe.
